Leona Young
Head of Financial Management & Senior Fractional Finance Director
Leona is Head of Financial Management at CJM Lumina and one of our senior Fractional Finance Directors at Lumina FD, bringing more than 6 years of financial leadership experience across multiple industries. Leona is also qualified by over 10 years of financial industry experience and part qualified with ACCA.
Over her career, Leona has served as Finance Director for five SMEs, each of which achieved profitability under her leadership – including one that doubled its turnover from under £1 million to over £2 million within three years. She has also supported larger organisations with turnovers exceeding £5 million, and balance sheets of £18million,leading major process improvements across complex, multi-departmental environments to drive efficiency, resilience, and long-term value.
Leona is entrepreneurial business problem solver with the strategic insight and technical finance skills required to deliver robust, FD-level solutions that drive growth and operational excellence. She is a hands on and combines a commercial acumen with deep financial capabilities, to lead, design and deliver grade A Finance Director work in fast moving environments.
With a deep technical understanding of Xero and a wide range of financial processes, Leona combines robust financial management expertise with a strategic, commercial mindset. She specialises in growing and scaling businesses to translate financial data into insight, action, and sustainable profitability.
Leona’s sector experience spans beauty, hospitality, retail, financial services, and IT, giving her a broad commercial perspective and an adaptable approach to business challenges. Known for her exceptional client retention record – maintaining 100% retention throughout her professional career. Leona is valued for her clarity, communication, and ability to “cut through the numbers” to pin-point practical, money-saving opportunities that directly enhance business performance.
Leona also operates a few businesses of her own in different industries continuing that commercial adaptability.

Colin Mcnally
Managing Director & Senior Financial Director
Colin McNally is an accomplished Finance Director and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (FCMA, CGMA) with nearly 30 years of experience in financial strategy, control, and leadership. Colin has also been accredited by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) since 1999.
Throughout his career, Colin has managed financial performance for complex, high-value projects across both public and private sectors — from global programmes to local enterprises. In 2008, he founded CJM Lumina, a consultancy delivering specialist public-sector economic development services across Scotland, before establishing Lumina FD to provide strategic and operational financial leadership to private-sector clients.
Colin’s expertise lies in financial strategy, risk management, and sustainable growth, helping organisations strengthen governance, improve profitability, and deliver long-term resilience. His ability to translate financial insight into actionable business decisions has made him a trusted advisor to company boards, entrepreneurs, and senior leadership teams across Scotland.
As a Fellow of CIMA (FCMA), Colin holds one of the highest professional designations in management accounting — recognising his significant contribution to the field, his leadership in advancing financial best practice, and his commitment to helping businesses achieve measurable results. This is an advanced and prestigious designation awarded to its members who have demonstrated significant experience, contributions, and leadership in the field of management accounting and finance. The FCMA title recognises those who have excelled in their profession, contributed to the advancement of the industry, and possess a deep understanding of finance management and strategic decision-making.

Brian McGhee
Fractional Chief Financial Officer & Fractional Finance Director
Brian has an impressive 20 years of experience working as a Financial Director for various companies, including those with turnovers in the billions. Brian has been accredited by ACCA since 1988, and he is a highly self-motivated, inspirational leader with a proven track record of achievement at Director level. He has worked with a wide range of companies from start-up to blue-chip retailers & manufacturers and specialises in securing energy and renewables investment.
Brian assists the growth of companies by ensuring financial control of businesses using a high level of business acumen to identify future opportunities and formulate strategy plans to maximise returns. His approach is to empower your team to make them feel comfortable, even during the difficult discussions that may take place along the way.
Brian strongly believes that details matter and likes to make sure everything is understood via a clear set of instructions and tasks. He will communicate well with you to ensure nothing is missed and that no assumptions have been made, and will listen fully to reach the correct solution… And most likely he’ll have the answers ready before the questions are even asked!
